What a signature envelope is and how to choose your allowance

Understand the difference between documents, signers and sends when comparing electronic signature plans.

Understand the unit being sent

In the Signature Platform, one send corresponds to an envelope sent for signing. The envelope organizes the signing process. A document is its content; a signer is a participating person. These terms should not be treated as the same measurement.

The number of documents and signers allowed within an envelope follows plan conditions. Do not assume that multiplying pages, files or participants automatically tells you how much allowance is consumed.

Estimate your routine

List the new processes you typically begin each month: customer contracts, proposals, amendments or personal documents. Separate recurring sends from occasional peaks. An independent professional may have a few high-value agreements, while a small team may handle many simple documents.

Use this demand to compare allowances and necessary features. Also check how the contract handles limits, new sends, changes and possible overages. If a counting rule is unclear, clarify it before purchasing rather than assuming another platform’s conditions apply.

Allowance is not the only cost

SMS and WhatsApp channels, API features and KYC identity verification have their own conditions. Compare what is included against what generates additional consumption. Read the current user allowance too, without confusing platform users with invited signers.

Explore current plans and choose according to your usage. To organize your first process, see how to prepare and send documents. A clear estimate helps an individual, sole proprietor or growing company compare plans on actual needs rather than on an unfamiliar unit name.
