Know who is asking before proceeding

KYC stands for “Know Your Customer.” An identity-verification workflow helps establish who is requesting onboarding, an agreement or a sensitive operation. Verification is one part of risk and customer management rather than the entire commercial decision.

Contrato.Cloud organizes digital identification journeys according to the operation’s configuration. Documents, biometrics and liveness checks serve different purposes in that flow. The result returns to the customer’s system so it can apply its own rules.

Where it makes a difference

At a fintech, identification can precede account opening or a financing proposal. In telecom, it can support contracting and an account ownership transfer. In ecommerce, it can add context to onboarding or orders needing further assessment.

Choose the step based on risk and purpose. Requiring the same check indiscriminately on every screen can add friction without clarifying the process. Define what is collected, who can access it and what happens when a case stays pending.

Identity does not solve everything alone

KYC does not replace credit assessment, company validation, representation checks or payment authentication. It does not guarantee the absence of fraud, chargebacks or automatic regulatory compliance either.

Its value lies in adding an identification layer with defined records and continuation rules. Explore Contrato.Cloud KYC, request a KYC demonstration or review the developer documentation. To connect identification and formalization, assess document signing and its requirements separately. That separation makes it easier to understand what each result actually establishes.
